From there, the plug-in will be automatically installed on your browser. Because some Firefox and Chrome users have sensitive blocks set up on their browsers in order to stop malware from making its home on their computers, you may have to temporarily disable these safeguards in order to allow Boomerang to work its magic.

How to Schedule an Email:

Once installed on your browser, when you enter Gmail and begin composing a new email, you will see a small, multicolored boomerang next to your send button.

This drop-down menu allows you to schedule when that email will be sent. And while it has the standard suggestions (one hours to four hours, two days to one month), you can also pick a specific time and date. Once you have made your selections, simply click “confirm” and when you click “send,” your email will be sent to the Boomerang Outbox, where it will await its delivery time.

How to Schedule an Email Reminder:

In the same format as scheduling an email to be delivered, you can setup e-mail reminders for yourself. If you know you have to deal with an email by a certain date, and you don’t want it to get buried in the mountain of other emails, you can schedule you reminder or a “boomerang.” When viewing the email, you will again see that little multi-colored boomerang. The drop-down menu looks the same as the scheduling menu, and it has the same choices, allowing you to send the email away for up to a month, or to any specific time, chosen by you. The email will then disappear from your inbox and reappear when you actually want to deal with it.

Other Email Schedulers:

Followup.cc is an email follow-up service that allows you to schedule reminders by forwarding your emails to a followup.cc address. When the predetermined time comes, the service forwards the email back to you and it reappears in your inbox.

There is also followupthen.com, which operates in basically the same way: sending an email to a followupthen.com address and when the schedule time rolls around, the email is returned to your inbox. Because you send the email away to another email address, it works with any kind of inbox, but is also a less elegant solution, and both have their bugs, as they deal with outside servers.

10 Tips And Tricks To Get More Out of WeChat

One of the reasons why people sometimes prefer WeChat over Whatsapp or Viber is that WeChat has some interesting features that some people find convenient, fun and cool. They have a feature called Moments, a place where you can share photos, video or just a simple status update just like Facebook timeline. They also can be used from within a web browser on your desktop.

Note: These tips and tricks were tested on an Android device. The steps may differ for iPhone user.

1. How To Upload And Send Video To Moments

Sharing video on WeChat is fairly easy but for some reason sharing videos on Moments is not available yet. However, there is a trick for you to share your uploaded video and send it to Moments.

1. Enter any chat room and click on the + sign at the bottom, then tap on Video.
2. Select to either Take Video to record a new video, or Choose Video to retrieve one that is already on your device.
3. Once the video is uploaded, do a long press on the video in the chat room and choose Favorite. 
4. Now go to the WeChat main page and tap on the navicon and choose Favorite Messages.
5. In there, tap on the video you have just favorited then tap on the navicon and choose Send to Moments.
6. Fill the blank with your a message, and tap on Send.

 

2. Select Group Of Friends That Can See your Moments

When updating your Moments, you can also choose to whom, or which group fo friends, you want to share that Moment with.

1. Go to Discover > Moments.
2. Tap on the Camera icon on the top right and select to Take Photo or Choose Photo on your device.
3. Tap on Share to… and tap on My Groups in the Sharing page.
4. Tap on New group… and tick the name of your friends that you want to allow to see the photo update.
5. Tap on Name then name your Group and tap on Save. Next tap on Done.
6. Go back to the Sharing Page and tick your newly created group and go back to your Moments update page.
7. Complete your Moments update and tap on Send.

 

3. Choose Which Friends To Not Share Moments With

If the group of people you don’t want to share certain Moments with are small, you might want to opt out of sharing with these people. To do this:

1. Go to the WeChat app main page and tap on the navicon and choose Settings.
2. Tap on Privacy and then tap on Don’t Share my Moments.
3. Tap on the + sign and tick friends that you don’t want to see your Moments; tap on OK. In the next page tap on Done.

4. Mention Friends In Your Moments Photo Update

Like tagging friends on Facebook, you can also Mention friends on photo updates you release in Moments.

1. Go to Discover > Moments and tap once on the Camera icon at the top right.
2. Select Take Photo if you want to snap a new picture or Choose Photo if you want to share the photo that is already in your device.
3. In the status page, tap on Mention and tick friends you want to tag. Tap on Send to update your Moments.

 

5. Use @ To Enter A Chat Group Member’s Name Quickly

When in a group conversation, @ pulls up the list of names of friends who are in the same chat group. This way, you can quickly choose who you want to mention just by picking the name from the listed suggested names.

1. In any group chat, type @ in the message box.
2. You will be prompted with a new window asking you to select which friend that you want to tag. Choose your friend by tapping on their name.

 

6. How to see all photos shared between two persons

There’s a way for you to look for photos only shared between you and a friend. This of it as an album or an image gallery that is categorized by whom you share the photos with. To do this:

1. Enter the chat room you have with your friend, and look for any recent photos. Tap to open.
2. Swipe left or swipe right to slide between photos to see all the photos shared between you and your friend. Alternatively you can also tap on the icon at the bottom right to see the entire album.

 

7. Trigger Confetti Using Words

If you haven’t noticed yet, certain keywords you use in chats may trigger Confetti that will fall from the top of your chat screen in your chat room. Everyone in the chat room will be able to see the Confetti if someone type a keyword that triggers it.

Below are some of the keywords that you can use to trigger Confetti in chat room but do take note that some of these keywords have special time periods and may expire.

8. Disable Find Me By Phone Number

By default, anyone that has your phone number saved as one of their contacts on their phone will be able to look for you on WeChat. If you want to disable this feature, here’s how.

1. Tap on the navicon and choose Settings in the main page of WeChat app.
2. Tap on Privacy then tap on Find Me by Phone Number to disable it.

 

9. Turn Off Any Chat Notification

Need to mute your chat notifications? Here’s how.

1. Enter any chat and tap on the chat information icon at the top right.
2. Look for Notifications and tap on it to disable.

Alternatively, you can choose when these notifications can come in (check out the next tip).

10. Set Your Notification Timing

There’s an option in WeChat that allows you to set the start and end time of when you can receive WeChat notifications. For instance, if you want peace of mine at the office, or when you are asleep, you can set your Notification Timing to be deactivated at certain periods.

1. Go to the WeChat app main page and tap on the navicon > Settings > Notifications > Notification Timing.
2. Tap on All Day to disable.
3. Then tap on Start. Set the Start time you want to receive notification then tap on Done.
4. Next tap on End to set the time when you want to stop receiving notifications. Then tap on Done.
